CUTTING THE SPRUE

Let’s get Cutting
So you’ve opened up that slick new box of Warhammer Miniatures ready to assemble your beautiful army of space marines when it suddenly dawns on you the task ahead of you… The parts don’t quite come as “Ready to be assembled” as you thought.
Almost all miniatures you’ll find are cast with a two-part mold and of course we’ll want to remove every form of mold line as even the best casting processes usually leave a line behind where the two mold halves meet unfortunately for us a very little quantity of the casting material oozes out creating little lines we need to cut off. 😓
🔥Be careful not to clip parts of the model itself!🔥
When you first start building miniatures you won’t be familiar with what parts belong to the mini and which parts are supposed to be cut off, Keep your manual Handy and be sure to take your time.
Along the mold line, it is easy to remove the excess sprue using a peeling motion with a sharp X-Acto knife gently. To avoid getting harmed, use a motion that draws the blade away from your body in the same fashion as you’d peel a potato or carrot.
